I've had the good fortune of experiencing much rewarding work. Facilitating Family Constellations is the work that I am most proud of.

Family & Systemic Constellations is a group process where participants serve as representatives for a family or system. The experience makes an embodied experience of acknowledging what is as hidden loyalties that are getting in the way of our emergence are revealed.

We accompany one another in creating renewed images of where their unique gifts meet their place in the collective. Participants often report unexpected and fresh impact on how they orient themselves to work and life.

For example, someone feels stuck about more fully stepping into the next iteration of their business. We learn that they are a middle child, feeling pulled in different directions. As participants step in to represent family members, an image is created that shows where there might be stagnation or confusion. Archetypes or various life forces might be invited in to break up dyadic stasis. Representatives might be invited to turn towards one another, or test new distances or other positions...and much more as we witness one another’s essential dignities.

“The Shame Now Feels Like Grief."

We work with self and systemic compassion. We work soulfully and playfully.

We practice deep respect and regard for one another. We practice deep listening, witnessing and empathy-inducing representation.

There is often both awe and grief as we endeavor to find the life-affirming stream where there is more movement for ourselves and our people.

“Mattie’s family constellations consistently create an atmosphere in which my higher self emerges to express and receive deep truths. While participating in the constellations, I experience a profound sense of connection and resonance. Somehow, the issues that arise are always exactly what needs healing in the moment. When working on my own issues, I have received guidance, calibration of my nervous system, and self-compassion—acceptance for my life as it is along with a vision of where my journey wants to go next. My work with Mattie in family constellations has—over time—profoundly changed my relationship with a close family member with whom I had been having difficulty. My constellation work enabled me to gain a new perspective that evoked a significant shift in my behavior. This shift in my behavior and attitude led to a resolution of seemingly incalcitrant conflict. More than that, a true connection has become easier to lean into and appreciate. This positive energy has permeated our extended family and is still sending out ripples of change. I was trained as a Gestalt therapist and have done decades of consciousness work. Mattie’s facilitation and leadership has earned my gratitude and deep respect. I recommend Mattie Clark for her empathy, intuition and brilliance.” -Robin Reinach

My teacher, Suzi Tucker, eloquently describes Family Constellations here:

“A Family Constellation takes place in a group. It is a dimensional exploration of a particular familial field. As participants step in to represent various family members, or sometimes emotional entities, the field rises up and unfolds without direction or intervention.

As the image opens, with representatives navigating the relational space, guided by internal resonance with each other and some greater movement, the person who is working may begin to see, and then feel, or the other way around, where his or her problems sit in larger context.

He or she may also be able to glimpse and then later grow the essential life-force that also resides there.

Rather than a targeted therapy, there are the natural possibilities that accompany kinesis: an antidote to the mental/physical/soul-level dis-ease that comes with stagnation.”
